David Sr. was a supervisor for the Farm Security Administration, U.S. Department of Agriculture and by the International Co-operation Administration in the Division of Education, Washington D. C. He worked operational missions in Liberia and Ghana in West Africa. His career took him all over the world. He was respected by persons of all cultures and races.

Rosa & David traveled the world teaching and continuing their education in Africa, England, France, Spain, Sweden, Portugal and many locations in the United States. It can be said that the Banks' were jet setters when Blacks and Whites could not drink from the same fountain in southern America.
